Fuel Filler Pipe to Tank Hose

I have done a search and researched the suggestions and still no luck yet....

I'm in need of a Fuel Filler Pipe to Tank Hose with evaporative emissions for a '73 F100 with 19 gallon aft axle rear tank. There are plenty available in NPD, Dennis C and LMC for same the configuation however they are for non evaporative emissions.

Does anyone have a source with part number for this item? I prefer an OEM eqivalent fit, form and look. Am I asking for too much?

Here, here. I second that. Although I am new, my bro-in-law (UTfball) has advised me that ND is a great guy, a huge help, and knows his stuff. Has helped Ben out in quite a few problems. Congrats NumberDummy...PS he showed me an email with some of your toys, nice collection of Winchester's.

Did you notice the part number and description I typed in Post #3?

Did you notice where I sourced this info from?

The hoses are not all the same...if they were...Ford would have said so, and so would have I, when I typed the info direct from the parts catalog.

D5TZ9047B was only used with the aft axle tank, and only when Evap Emission is present.

AFAIK, no autoparts store carries a similar hose, which has been obsolete from Ford for 15 years.

Several months ago, I found two of these hoses at a dealer in AZ. I put this info on FTE, both were gone the next day.

Ok, I have asked this question at least twice before and have not received an answer. What is the difference?! All I see when I look under my truck is the filler hose and vent hose going to the fill area. I have a California (San Jose) truck so I know I am supposed to have the emissions hoses but I can't find out what the difference is. I need the rear one also.

Help?...suggestions? Thanks!

In looking around I found this.

Rear Filler Neck Hoses 1973-79 Truck

It shows the fuel/vent filler hose through Bronco Graveyard but does not state for CA emissions. What would be the difference?

I don't recall what the difference in the hoses is, because the last time I sold any of these hoses was in the early 1990's.

Most CA vehicles (cars & trucks) have Evap Emission beginning in 1970, as it was a requirement here.

I do not know for sure how many other states required Evap Emission, but it was not specific to CA only vehicles.

The parts catalogs will say "CA" only when parts are specific to CA.

It doesn't say anything regarding CA about this hose.

All is says is this: "use with evap/emis"

Thanks Bill. Do you think that perhaps what it means is the evap. return line to the engine compartment from the gas tank? Or maybe that the hoses are shaped a little different on the ends? Just a thought. It's frustrating not to know!

Thanks again!

Maybe I'm oversimplifying things here, but can't you just purchase a length of fuel filler hose of appropriate diameter from NAPA and buy the appropriate size hose for the evaporator hose? I replaced the mid-ship hose and the aft-axle hose on my '76 and did just that. Granted, it was not possible to find a fuel-grade hose for the evaporator, but it won't see actual fuel, so it should be ok. Was able to accomplish the same as buying from LMC, JBG or NPD for about half the price.

Unless you're building a show truck, does appearance really matter in this case? It's under the bed anyway.

Hey 76camperspecial,
That's exactly what I am trying to find out. I too replaced the midship that way (and did in fact find fuel grade vent line hose; I assume you meant vent and not evaporator?..) I cant see all the way up over the rear gas tank to see if something else is there though. Thus, my questions. I had dropped the mid-tank to clean it out so I knew what was there, but I paid someone else to drop the back tank a year or so ago and they "don't remember"..
