I recently acquired a 1965 f-650. A friend of mine told me that I can get parts for it easily since it is a basic pick up cab. I would like to know what series it is in reference and maybe so sites that I can go to to get parts. Please help

 

hoody i have a 72 f 600 x uhaul my model vin code is 604 whats up no showing of f 650 in all my manuals / i still can get parts for it /but some items can be tricky md./hd. eng.330-360 v8s up /water pumps/intake manifolds /rads. are larger and different in dezign to light duty 100-350s est. plus my 330-360 has a forged crank in it a "racers dream "eng. wow a 65 hey iv'e got i of those to 65/ MERC-350 napco4x4 300/6 cyl.-dully dumper still runs great all org. 65/66 last of the heavy metal trucks /"more info on your truck be great

What are the first three digits of your trucks VIN?

The reason I ask is, Ford never offered an F650 back then.

If the VIN begins with F60 = F600.

As original: 1961/66: F100 / F250 / F350 / F500 / F600 / F700 / F750 / F800 / F850 / F950 / F1000.

 

hard to find vin.code no. bill [i have a super-rare /mercury 350 napco 4x4 dully /587-1 axle 10,000 g.v.w. /but my problem is the top of the vin plate starts with = 5813532L-201215-B won't go into [vin finder ? tried it with M-350 at the start ,no dice what give with the no.# +2 letters at the top ,i know the rest of the code .[iv'e never seen one like it .is it a early type vin or what !!

 

Canadian VIN used thru 1965.

1966 and later Canadian produced trucks use the same VIN system US trucks do.

5 81 35 32 L - 210215-B

5 = 6 Cylinder Engine

81 = Conventional Cab

35 = M350

32 = 132" Wheelbase

L = Left Hand Drive

210215 = Numerical Sequence of Assembly = 1965

B = Gross Vehicle Weight Range = 6,100 lbs. thru 10,000 lbs.



I can decode the rest of the info on the plate also.

G = Ford confusion.

Thru 1978 G refers to all A/T's used on F Series Trucks & Econolines.

C6 / C4 / MX & FX Cruise-O-Matics / FMX Cruise-O-Matic / 2 & 3 Speed Ford-O-Matics.

One has to know which trans was used with what engine.

No C4's were ever used with FE engines...not a one.
