Just replaced my sway bar bushings

Hey guys,
I replaced my sway bar and end link bushings tonight and got a BIG Surprise.

I know the pics ain't much, but that is my passenger side sway bar bracket. It's bent all the way up against the sway bar itself. I have no idea how this happened it had to be from the PO. I finally got it straitened out enough to get the top bolt out. Got it apart and got everything straightened out. Long story short, it's all fixed and the new energy bushings are in.

Looks like someone may have put a jack on it or hit something while driving... Glad you found it! Got to replace mine sometime too..

My truck has a similar problem. My driver's side bracket is bent, I presume from someone using it as a jack point.

Dummies.

Good catch Huck. This is on my to-do list for sure. I'm tired of the bump I feel/hear for the 3 years that I've owned this truck.

Good job Huck, got a cluck under there too, prolly the same thing. I recall a garage putting tires on my truck (previous set) and putting the jack on the stabilizer bracket, bent the chit out of it, man did my voice hurt after that one.

Does anyone know where I can get just the swaybar link bushings. I thought you could just purchase bushings.

Thanks

Thanks guys,
All I can figure is that someone used it for a jack point. Here is where I got mine from Energy Suspension Parts Dealer, Specializing in Energy Suspension Bushings Suspension Components.

To be honest. I haven't got to drive it enough to tell a whole lot about it. I still have a little squeak in the front end, but I believe a set of leaf spring isolator bushings will solve that.

Let us know how everything works out. What i do is spray some W-D 40 on different bushings and take it for a ride, if i don't hear it i know i isolated the problem. Just a thought..
