The old rubber is going to be too stiff to be able to pop the old glass out of. I use a sharp razor blade utility knife to cut the old rubber. Also remember to bend out the four metal tabs before trying to remove the glass. If you have the stainless trim you might not have them but check anyways. I cut them out before installing the new glass, they don't do much to hold the windshield in and they are a pain to bend back into position. They are also a source of rust.
