i've got to swap windshields. any advise? not sure how to get the old one out. i'll have to remove the new one from another truck without breaking it. thanks.

 

Buy a new rubber to install the new glass and cut the old rubber to get them out. Old hard windshield gaskets are not worth messing with.

The old rubber is going to be too stiff to be able to pop the old glass out of. I use a sharp razor blade utility knife to cut the old rubber. Also remember to bend out the four metal tabs before trying to remove the glass. If you have the stainless trim you might not have them but check anyways. I cut them out before installing the new glass, they don't do much to hold the windshield in and they are a pain to bend back into position. They are also a source of rust.
