For those of you with DIY injectors....
I was just wondering how much machining is needed on the intensifier pistons, and is this complicated to do. Do you recommend ordering the already machined ones or machining the ones I have. Thanks.
I do not know the exact amount that is needed to machined off but it is some where near .100 of an inch. It should be done with a surface grinder (precision grinder not bench grinder!) by a machine shop or skilled operator. You can't go wrong ordering the premachined unit. it eliminates the possibility of down time and screwed up pistons.
Not that this is gonna answer your ?? but I just ordered mine and got the pistons as well. I'm not getting any e-,mail response from Jim though. Does anyone know what state he is in? I want to estimate when I will recieve my kit. Sorry for being off topic.
When he did mine I believe I sent them out on a monday and I had them back wednesday of the next week. So I would guess about 5 days (not including ship time) depending on what his workload is.
I just talked to him on the phone Monday morning to cancel the order I placed for the stage 1 kit so he is around and about. I decided to just send my injectors to him since I don't have a way to do a flow test and make sure all the parts are in good shape. Give him a call.

I went with the pistons. After all was aid and done, I remebered that there's a master machinist at work that woulda done the machining for nothing. NUTS! next time, I guess.
Does anybody know if he has gotten the stage 2 nozzles in yet? I said that he would call when they came in but if hes really busy it might slip his mind.
