1997 F-350 trouble

I ahve a 97 PSD that has a misfire when the pedal is pushed rapidly. Once the engine comes up to speed the mis goes away. It is noticable under load or not. I just installed a new mech fuel pump and cleaned the screen in the filter housing. What else may cause the mis? Do I need to check the hpop pressures? I have all the inj. o-rings and plan on installing them also. Would bad o-rings contribute to the miss or not? Thanks

Do you have excessive smoke when it starts to miss? Does it occur at idle or only when you get on it. Do you have a tuner? We need to know a little more information than what you provided.

Injector o-rings could be the problem. Usually when they start to go the engine will bog down at high rpms.. aka a ton of blue smoke will be generated. If you replacing the o-rings, it would be a good time to do the glow plugs as well.

It doesn't sound like a hpop issue to me if you have a stock engine.

is it throwing a CEL? i would get it scanned even without a CEL there may be something stored that could help you diagnose the problem

x2 I would also think about checking the UVC wiring when you are in there ,there could be some bad wires under there causing your miss .

Does it miss real bad when it is first started in the morning?

Sorry, the engine is stock, no mods or tuners. It only occurs when you get on it, 1800 rpm and higher. there is alot of blue smoke present after you get on it. The GP's test .06 and .04 ohms to ground. Thanks

I just bought this truck last week, last night I noticed someone has blacked out the CEL with marker or something, I think. Is the CEL in the lower right side of the inst cluster?

with the truck at idle, put the pedal to the floor and hold it there. if the truck gets to 1800ish and falls on its face stumbleing and smokeing with a slow rev to 3000 then snaps back to 3400 then you have leaking o-rings
