Cab Fresh air Filter

I have a 2006 F150 4x4 XL 5.4 and have not been able to get a shop manual yet. My question is does this have a driver compartment fresh air filter? One that filters the air for the A/C and heater vents. If it does where is it located and how do I change it? Also what is the part number that I need to get to change it. Any information is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks for letting me know that. What’s the best way to clear the air ducts and ac of any funky smells? The last owner of the truck was a smoker and I am clearing that all out. I have had the carpets and upholstery cleaned along with the headliner and seat belts I am looking to get the rest out.

at the auto parts stores they sell this aerosol (sp?) spray to remove mildew from your a/c and heat vents in vehicles. it works pretty well at removing that crap and the smell.

give it a try, it might work in your case to remove the cigarette smoke.

I use this spray weekly ! I have terrible gas , and blow Farts quite often directly into my cloth seats . I should have ordered leather cause the cloth seats hold the stink in for some time !!!

Now that is just more information than anybody needed! Get some vinyl seat covers if it really is that big of a problem.

I will look for this spray, I have not stained my seats yet however. If I do I will get the vinyl covers. I did look for some air fresheners and chose the cedar wood over the old stand by of a crappy pine tree.

I also started to load my tool box/recovery box I had in my Bronco. Been a while since I have been in a full size 4x4. As I have been told by my freinds, it should not be long until I reach out and touch this rig and it becomes something.

Its funny how the Mustangs have the air filter but the trucks dont? Maybe its to save on costs.

Yeah, Ozium works... but it has a "smell" of its own and it takes a few trips with the windows down to get rid of it.

Also, do NOT spray Ozium in your cab, then get in and drive around!!! The stuff'll kill ya. (No it won't REALLY kill you but... I think it does have a warning about inhaling it).

Spray it in and let it sit an hour, then roll down the windows and take it for a spin. Then consider doing it again the next day and your odor problems will be solved (hopefully).
