chip setting for my 1999 7.3
i have the edge evolution programer on my diesel and i just wondered what would be a good setting for short in town drives, stock, tow, race, extreme?
It is a manual if that changes things, and the screen shows everything like egt, oil temp. and boost. and i can also go in and change the idle for cold weather, what would be a good rpm for around 30 degrees (right now) and as cold as -30 when winter really sets in? I usualy plug it in at night too.

Well for first i can't believe no one has chimed in yet. It all boils down to how much air flow you have, tow mode will be good to start with, run a tank than switch to race and see which one does better, try to drive in the same manner each tank. In the winter on high idle 1100 at the most.

I have the edge and a manual trans also. I find I get the best mileage in race. Once I go past that the mileage seems to suffer a bit. And as far as the high idle. I agree with what was previously said, 1100 at the most. Really. you can run it in whatever setting you like most, but if you still have the stock exhaust watch those egts.

i was just wondering on the power levels becouse i dont want to prematurly wear out my truck it already has 148000 on it. has anyone ever played with the idle adjust on the edge evolution? i dont think i have ever seen mine go over 750 800 it just uses the block off valve after the turbo to warm up.
