LAST EDITED ON 27-Apr-01 AT 00:13 AM (EST)[p]Well i have never really messed with a Dana 44 TTB axle, but i can only guess they are similar to the mono Dana-44 which i have taken apart. Guys please correct me if i am wrong. If it is the same its not that hard at all. The main differance is the seals are on the pumkin of the TTB axle. To get there you will need to pull the axle shaft. That can be done by pulling your brake caliper/rotor off and take the rotor backing plate off. Then their should be a circle of bolts or nuts. Take thoes loose. (these nuts may hold the backing plate on also..just have to check) This will loosen the center section of the spindle that the bearings run on. You might have to hit it carfully with a hammer to get it loose. After that is off the axle should be free. All you need to do is just pull it out of the pumkin. Replace the seal and reverse the order of what i just said. While you have it out, check the needle bearings in the spindle and the u-joint on the axle. Also the slip joint and boot. Might as well fix it while you have it out...that is if they need it. AGAIN i have never done this to a TTB. But i have worked on a Mono Dana 44 and crossing it over. I hope this helps. As for me....Ich bin muda....or how ever you say it....who says that you will never use that one year of HS german! haha...im out...
