I only mentioned title in conversation not meaning to cause any problems on here or thinking of title swaps or the likes. I have title to both my pickup and my panel but they were registered as unfit vehicles, one day the will have to be re-registered as fit before I take the pleasure cruise. I made sure I was the titled owner before I sunk my hard earned cash into them. Please brush the hair down on the back of your neck, lol

What I referred to is the FTE policy used to protect this site from legal or liability issues by promoting illegal activities of title sale or swap.

well shhhh this is between us , but my 53 , and all the numbers on the frame and other places say it is a v-8 equipped 53 , somewhere somehow inherited the vin and title for a 6 popper 54.......... story as i was told by the original owners neice was grandpa bought it new or soon after , then unk ends up with it . can't locate title , had a junk 54 out back { this all took place some 30 plus ago !!!! } so ................... oh yeah and the state employee screwed up and wrote a 5 where there was supposed to be a 4 to designate the year in the vin ................ dunno don't care it's legally titled and it's mine .............................

AFAIK, They don't in MN. They have a reconstruction title, which is a new title issued after pics, drivetrain, and other details are submitted...typical of a street rod. But no existing title can be used for anything but the vehicle it was titled for. My first '48 f1 had this problem. Anyway, trying not to get too off topic.

Why frame swap? The stock frame is great with a couple of minor modifications:
Triangulated 4 link rear
Ford 9" rear
Airbags
custom crossmembers
box the entire frame
mustang II IFS
79-93 Mustang power rack
custom motor and tranny mounts to drop in 302 and C4 tranny
custom brake/power master cylinder setup
VOILA!! Only took 4 years to get a rolling chassis!

Bob, excellent idea!
Lets take it further. 1. Frame swaps 2. Front clip swaps 3. After market front suspension kits. A lot of kits are designed for sbc not true blue, some for sbf but not with PS rack. Some not for flatheads. Some kits require rear sump oil pan. 4. Rear suspension setups. As a FNG explain a search of the board.

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/6...-articles.html Councilman, a search of the board would be looking through past threads. Clicking on the link I provided will show alot of good ones. In particular, posts # 12 and 13 which are front suspension and rear axle swaps.

Use the search in the upper left of centre in these pages then click on ''advanced search''.
It`s been working well if you get the exact and proper search phrase, you may have to try afew different ones at first.
Search in this 48/60 forum for the best results for these years of trucks. Once you get used to the search it`ll come in handy.
