reverse lights

i have a 1994 ranger xlt, i went to check out the reverse lights to make sure that they work , they did not the bulbs are in good shape and the truck has a manual tranny. any help would be great

Check the reverse light swith on the transmission, make certain that it has power, and that it passes the power when the transmission is place in reverse.

You might want to do a quick fuse check too.

I have found that the plug does not want to stay connected on any of the manual trannies I have, it has always been the souce of the problem. As a result, I smile whenever I see a manual tranny truck over ten years old that the reverse lights work!

Thanks for the help from everyone and sorry i have not got back on in over a week, i have been working alot on my kids house.
Any way i have fixed the problem, it was the reverse light switch.
