Gustav

Well folks, here we sit in Kentwood on Monday Morning (Labor Day), with a house full of refugees from New Orleans, I would say we are being blessed because it appears that the storm wasn't near as bad as everyone predicted.
Of course it's still not over yet, but it looks like we have been spared.
Thank Goodness.

I talked to my friend from New Orleans, she and her twin sister share a house just outside the city limits, they had minor damage from Katrina, her parents had to completely gut their house.

She spent this hurricane in Dallas, she won't be able to return home til Wednesday per evacuation orders.

Well folks it appears the worst is over, now just clean and assess the damage and most important get the electricity back on. we have a generator that runs everything except A/C, boyoboy do I miss that A/C. The best I can tell, they will start letting New Orleans people go home tomorrow. We are 90 miles away and didn't get much at all. few tree limbs and the worst, no electric. We have 15 people here and they are starting to get on my nerves, BUUTTT I will remain calm and drink a lot!!!!

we're kickin with the generator as well........keepin the fridge (cold drinks) and the milk for the kids nice and cold, and we got a few fans going too.

hope every one gets back ok, and the damage isn't to bad. we were lucky in this area, some got it worse some not at all.

first thing is first get ever one back home safe, get repairs completed.............then hit some MUD!!

our thoughts and prayers are with you all!!
