How to remove rear DVD (RSE) in 07 expy

Hey all,

I'm looking to add some monitors etc. in my 07 EL and wanted to run some wires to the rear DVD system. I removed the only 4 screws visibly hodling the unit to the roof but couldn't get it out. Any tips?

Thanks all,

Russell

As a followup,

After removing the 4 screws beneath the screen, the unit is held in place by 4 clips and 2 hooks on the forward vehicle side. All you have to do is pull down hard on the rear of the unit and the clips will pop out, then swivel down toward the front of the vehicle and the whole unit will come off.

Hopefully that helps someone in the future.

I had posted this a few months ago as I needed to tear it down, desolder, then resolder a new jack onto the AUX piece of the unit. We thought it was something still holding it, but the clips thing is real. We couldn't get it, so we took it to Precision Audio of Bainbridge, GA, where I have a buddy or two that said they'd look no charge. Well long story short, he was literally doing pull ups with that thing before it finally pulled free of those clips. Nothing was broken. I was amazed at the shear amount of force that took. He said that wasn't the first time he's had to do that to get a dvd unit off the roof. They really make those to never fall off lol.

Yeah,

It was ridiculous how much force it took. I was really afraid of breaking the thing. Ford must have some sort of tool to unclip those things. I guess they're just terrified of it falling off and hitting some little kid in the back seat
