The instructions are simple enough. The problem is the truck bed rails are so thin, the clamps actually bend the bed rail when you clamp it down. If anyone has a suggestion or solution please let me know. I have thought about mounting some type of block under the rail where the clamp goes to re-inforce it. I have a 2008 F-150 SuperCrew.
We sell alot of Lund, if you would like I could get you in contact with the manufacturer. Maybe they have some pointers for ya.
I actually talked to the manufacturer this morning. They said they had never heard of the problem and suggest I loosen the clamps. Maybe I was clamping to tight. I will probably add some reinforcement inside the bed rail where each clamp attaches.
Lowe's has 1" steel flat bar stock for sale in 2'-3' legenths. Cut as many small pieces as there are clamps. Paint them, to prevent rusting, then use them to reinforce the rail.
I have a Lund Genesis and have had nothing but problems with it. Mine actually came with re-enforcement blocks that you use double sided tape to attach them to the underside of the front of the bed. I have tried two sets of the front header clamps and still the cover still comes loose. This has to be the worst design ever.

The genesis Tri-Fold I have does not have clamps at the bulk head. It has one on each side about a foot from the bulk head and one on each side about a foot from the tailgate. I have no issues with the quality of the cover, it fits good and works fine. My issue is the thin metal on the bed rails where the clamps are. I like the idea of reinforcement blocks. I've decided to cut (four) six inch long peices of 1" X 1/4" aluminum flatbar and attach them with 3M automotive tape on the side of the bedrail where the clamps are.
