It may sound stupid, but i never disassembled a tranny from an engine...
How do you do it?
Just unscrew the bolts from the engine going into the tranny?
Can i "pull" the tranny from the engine then, or do i have to watch this or that?
There's no rear-axle attached to the tranny yet.
There's a first time for everything

no you'll likely have to undo the torque convertor bolts so you'll have to take off the inspection cover.. 4 bolts i think then get a wrench in there and undo the 4 nuts that hold the flex plate to the torque convertor, then you can back it off, make sure the convertor comes with the trans.. i have a feeling you'll have trouble if you try to leave it on the flexplate. make sure to undo the nuts holding the trans to the crossmember and you'll have to jack it up a bit for the studs to clear when you take it out, or it may be easier to remove the crossmember completely. also dont forget about the starter.

yes. make sure you get your torque convertor seated properly into the pump. you should hear 3 clicks, or clunks i guess would describe it better. it is really straight forward once you get into it, you'll see. you cant screw up the convertor bolts into the flexplate like dodge, (back to my old demo derby days) back then i could drop a C4 with a honda screw jack and a couple of wrenchs. make sure to keep the block plate in between the engine and trans. dont attempt to take out an E4OD with a screw jack!!!! lol
