In my experience you will see no more boost than the stock housing. It will come on a hair sooner. if you ever intend to go with larger than stock injectors keep the stock housing. I remove the 1.0 housing that came on the truck when I bought it and put the stock housing back on. barely noticed the increase in spool up and really noticed the decrease in EGT's. If you won't plan on larger injectors give the 1.0 a shot.

If you haven't already move the MAP sensor line from the stock location to the IC pipe at the turbo outlet (hot side pipe). It won't get you more boost but it will improve lag/spool up. Other than that the only way to increase boost is to add fuel. You could talk to Tony and see if you have room for more fuel in the programming but its not likely.
The lose you have is normal and you must remember that even though you lost boost in the gauge you have gained air density.

right, the amount of volume flowing into the motor has not changed even though the gauge has dropped psi. the intercooler allows the air to be more dense thus allowing more air per square inch to enter the combustion chamber. so while you have lost 3 psi of boost you have gained efficieny and performance. dont think that because you dropped some boost that the truck isnt going to run as good.

I realize that the truck has more power than without the intercooler. I just want a little more power @ highway speeds (about 2000 rpm) and figure that because I do have the intercooler now that I can run a little more boost. only seeing 9-10 pounds @ 2000rpm)
was thinking of doing stage ones but dont want to have to buy a tranny and loose reliability.

with a shift kit stage ones shouldnt toast the tranny unless you are floored towing 20k everyday, but i think the trans will die either way doing that. with stage ones yo need to watch egt's and trans temp's the converter would be the first to go up then take the tranny with it. so you just need to watch for a shuddering converter and high tranny temps.
