Baked Up?

I have a '99F350 SRW A/T. When backing up under load, sometimes the transmission keeps slipping, doesn't happen all the time! I never seem to have any problem in forward gears. Bought truck used w/66k miles on it last year, now has 260k. Only mods are SuperChip(set on mid) and a big air filter.
Can something be adjust or replaced before bigger problems show up? Thanks

THere is nothing that I am aware of to adjust, it does sound like you have some tranny work needed..

That is how my son's tranny acted before he had to have it overhauled. No magic wand available for this one.

Yeah it is. First year I had mine i put about 70k on it. And to think, I thought that was a lot.

there's a TON of heat generated in a transmission in reverse.....even more-so under a load!

when ever backing up a load i always pull her down into 4 lo..lot less stress on the trans...if i am on dry ground.. i dont lock the hubs...
