Just did the exhaust tube cleaning
Just cleaned the exhaust back pressure tube and sensor and it was so easy. Took about a half hour. I was worried about stripping the fittings but had no prob. I wish i would have done it 6months ago the tube was 98% plugged. It is easy and anyone con do it. Thanks for all the info u guys put on the forum it a great help thanks

Cleaned the manifold fitting and ran the truck before reassembly just 2 make sure it was clean. Might do the foil delete and paint the pipes as soon as i find new pipe boots at a good price. I kind of hit the point I don't know where 2 stop maybe if I have the pipes off i should do the W.W. and ccv mod or slow down before I'm broke.

I'm kind of in the process of cleaning mine while I am right there replacing the water pump.
what exactly is involved in cleaning the manifold side? do you run the engine w/o the tube hooked up @ the manifold to blow any stray soot crap out?
Any harm to run the engine with the manifold side open?

What a-rod said, and also if you notice that your exhaust back pressure valve seems to stay closed more and if it takes more throttle to open it back up when you're driving.
They get clogged with the black soot from the exhaust as it builds up over time.
I just do it every fall as part of my routine to get her ready for the winter. Also they tend to corrode and get holes in them, so it's a good idea to look them over every year.
