So, baught a new IAC, which actually looked like the factory one for once, not aftermarket, haha. anyways. 80 dollars, GP Sorrenson, decent parts I spose.
It has a bigger solenoid on it, but No difference. =\

So, my next question is, how does the MAP sensor work?
I played with the vacuum line on there, and it does some super strange things IMO. So, how does it work? Maybe my MAP sensor is bad.

MAP sensor detects manifold vacuum. At idle throddle plate is closed so there is max vacuum and computer tells injectors to use just a small amount of fuel. If you go WOT vacuum drops and computer tells injectors to use lots of fuel. I would put a vacuum gauge on the line at the MAP sensor and compare that reading to your manifold vacuum at idle. They should be the same.

The idle thing is such a pain. =\

The problem with trying anything out on it is that when your driving, you stop to check things, and when you get under the hood, its already idled down to normal.

I unplugged the map sensor yesterday and it idled up. So I'm making a lot of vacuum.

I guess i'll unplug it today and drive with it unplugged.

Thanks for that info hussler, (but i knew that)
I was looking for how it reads the vacuum.
If its a diaphragm, yada yada.
