Some rare Studebakers, a '50's Station Wagon and a early '50's pickup. Nice old Ford P/U's and tow truck in that link Morris..
I went to an auction preview in North Dakota today. A nice '57 Ford with a hot 351, nicely dressed too. Some nice early Impala SS's, a 409 engine waiting to be re-born, tractors McCormick-Deering, Ford 801(?) + (with interesting select-matic ? transmission), an old Fordson (my favourite), old GTX's some in great shape, some needing a lot of work and a early '60's Suburban 3 door, with the rare 4WD, 4 speed. std. and inline Chevy six.
Also what looked to be a late '30's-40-41 Ford Coupe with those nice chevroned tail lights. At least I think it was a Ford, not all the parts were screwed on, so that's a guess. Potential exists.
A bunch of engines, out of the cars, mostly Chevy small blocks from the '60's and a few 396 big blocks, including the uncommon L-66...the 396 -2 bbl. @ 265 hp. My dad had one in a '69 Impala he used for towing. It had a THM 400 trnny and a 12 bolt axle....great tow vehicle, also front disc brakes and F-41 suspension. Sorry to get GM on a Ford site.

My wife told me I could only go to the preview, not the auction and I could not take my credit card. In addition she indicated that I already have a '67 Matchless 750 Scrambler and a '78 Yamaha SR500 single.
But I sure liked that chopped, early '50's Ford F100.
BTW, I found out about the auction in an edition of Hemmings.

If I was wealthy back then and knew what I know now, I could of bought scads of interesting cars, back then. But as it happens, I wasn't wealthy and knew little.
Also $1900 for a Tiger or an Austin Healey 3000 may seem like chicken feed, but in '69 if you were making 6-7 Grand, you weren't doing so bad.
I was still an older teenager back then in '69 and I recall some of the 'older' guys (they must of been in their '40's) at the company I worked for, were typically making about $ 4800-5000 @ year (gross) and had a couple of kids and a mortgage.
$ 1900 was a good chunk of a working man's yearly salary back then. In 1970 you could buy a brand new, base Ford Maverick for $ 1970 dollars. That was the promotion then, same cost as the numerals in the year.
