383 ci-727 trans-chrysler 8 3/4 sure grip 323 rear mostly stock factory stuff 1200 stall factory-need to check the milage was under 100k when I got it in 84- I would guess around 175 k or so was a strong runner though-
I did put a crane cam and lifters in it-close to stock specs!
i do have a 440 in the shed complete in pieces needs crank -she was wiped and a couple of rods -they over laped the bearings-guy rebuilt it and mis matched the rod caps-super dummy-noticed it when I 1st pulled it apart-he was lost as to why a rebuilt motor was knocking-paid a whopping 75 bucks for it with a aluminum intake
well a buddy was building a 49 merc and his choice of motors for it was the 440:0 his loss my gain-we did get one in his merc though-he sold the body after we chopped and channeled it-did a smooth job on the fender skirts too-he kept the 440 and is now in a 28 ford-he is a chrysler motor freak loves the long stroke-
