C6 and gear vendors overdrive

I was wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to use a c6 auto behind a 7.3 and then use a gear vendors overdrive adaptor with it. It seems like the c6 can be built pretty stout and with the gear vendors over drive it would double your trans gears, go from a 3 speed to 6 speed to better match rpm to speed and what you are doing with the truck at the time. I have the e4od 4x4 and was thinking that when the trans go, hopefully a long time from now, this might be a better option if possible.

your better option i think would be to get the E40D built by BTS.. A E40D can be built very stout as well and would be much easier on you than converting to a c6.

Did ford ever put a c6 behind the 6.9 or 7.3 and is the bell housing bolt pattern the same from the 6.9 through the powerstroke 7.3?

Not to mention, my GV unit cost 3k, and I installed it. Spend the money on tranny mods, just my .02
