How much would it cost to completely strip and repaint a 99' F-250 crew cab short bed. I would like to get at least factory quality paint. What would most shops charge?
no offense man but it all depends on where you live and how good of a job you want. MY suggestion is to go to your local shops and ask questions. Remember any kid out of autobody school can make your truck look great the question is how long will it last.
The reputable shops around here would charge no less than $4k for that much surface area, and that is without color change - quite a bit more for a color change because of all the jams, bed removal for back of cab/front of box, etc.
Well for factory quality or better it won't be cheap. Ask around, see who's doin the best work in town. Just don't be swayed if there will be a waiting period, they're the best in the area for a reason. But I would suspect any reputable shop will charge in the 4-6000 range.
Thanks, I'll look around. The reason I am asking is because I just bought my truck and it was used in construction so there are several scratches and minor dings. The paint is also fading/cracking in several areas. I'll probably leave it for as long as possible, but eventually it will need a repaint. I just want to make sure it's done right so that it will last.
