i put a D60 in a 89 F250 with 4 inch lift and everything bolted rite in without any cutting or modifications.

Did you use the 250 shaft or 350 shaft? I think the later crossmembers may drop more as well.
Mine is fine with the 250 shaft at ride height, but I had to cut a lot to make a hole for it with any suspension travel.

worked fine with both. but i put the 250 shaft in it after the 350 shaft lost a u-joint and left it in there.

notch it a bit and weld some steel plate around it

I plan on cutting it off and making it go up and over, I still had some occasional contact that would require a bunch more cutting to fix and I am already running out of structure.

My interference is within 6" of the yoke and I already have the crossmember damn near cut in two so I could go either way, I lean towards keeping it simple.
Current shaft is a cut down rear 2" longer than stock and I built a spare. 95% of the time angle is a non issue without a CV as the truck is very low, but at full droop it is close to bind.
