2023 Events, Car Shows, Races, etc

Looks like it's that time of year to start a new thread!

There is an event called "Return to Grill 57 cruise-in" on Jan 1. That place has been sold and operating under another name now, but the cruise-in is planned at the parking lot adjacent to where Grill 57 was and the organizers say they are lining up some food trucks to come out for it.

I call this area Garner but apparently it's officially got a Raleigh address. More info on the facebook event page, but for those of you not on facebook here is the pertinent info:

"Return to Grill 57" New Year's Day Cruise SUNDAY, JANUARY 1, 2023 AT 1 PM – 5 PM
Event by NICK - North Carolina Independent Car Klub
4202 Fayetteville Rd, Raleigh, NC 27603-3608, United States
Duration: 4 hr

A Return to the days of "Grill 57's" Legendary New Years Day Cruise in Garner. NICK has have been asked to attempt to resurrect this once great cruise. Weather permitting the cruise is scheduled for January 1, 2023. (Rain Date 1/7/2023) Parking for cruise to be in the main parking lot behind the Grill 57 location to Goodberry's. Music to be provided. We have a waffle / coffee food truck attending. Bring your cars and your memories.........!

Edit*
Ok for some reason it won't let me paste the direct link for the facebook event, so write www dot manually and then paste facebook.com/events/3020763254895404/

Good thing we got there when we did.
Did you see they were also in the lot closer to the stores and mostly full where we were.

He said he was not expecting that many cars & trucks to show up.
I know I did not see all that were there and only talked to 2 or 3 people.
2Wonder if they showed up because of years past or heard about it and being a nice day headed out?

There was a few older Ford pick up.
1 looked to be on a Chevy frame, A arm front end, and a Chevy motor

Yes he had quite the turnout! I think a combination, being nice weather helped a lot, being a Sunday with no other events going on, and also so many people used to go to the Grill 57 cruise back in the day. Dusty was there, he posted a couple of pics including that Dodge pickup which was behind Ted's car. At first I thought it was a Lil Red Wagon but it actually turned out to be something different. We were at lunch when he came around!

It was nice to get out of the house yesterday with the truck and not only to do a trash run.

Some of us hit MoJo's in Garner for the monthly meet. As cold as it was they had a pretty good turn out.
Talking to others they said Morrisville cars & coffee had a large turn out also and it was 28*f when one person I talked to got there.
Cant wait for it to get warmer so dont have to put on all the layers to keep warm.

The cars & coffee cruise in for Garner I show as being the second Sunday. But the only flyer I ever saw shared around was last month (although it says at the bottom "will continue each month"). Today would be the second Sunday and being Easter I doubt if anything went on.

Mac has how show coming up next Saturday, we will try to get a group together to attend that.

The only one I have in my list for Sunday the 16th is "Mustang Day" cruise-in in FV. I don't have a flyer, just the facebook event, although even if you are not a member you may be able to click the link and see the specifics.

Facebook Post
Mustang day cruise
Highway 55 Burgers & Shakes
Fuquay-Varina
4pm to 7pm

The Esperanza Mexican restaurant guy is trying a Friday evening cruise-in for the 21st. I am not sure how that will work out and I do not think I will go to that.

I did also see that Easy Street guys plan to start up at Jordana's in Benson again, but I can't find a flyer for it. But I do have a flyer for the Dunn Shriners on April 22.

Try to keep May 6 open, I am working to organize a cruise-in for O'Reilly Auto Parts in Four Oaks. We did one last year, I can't remember if you attended or not. But it's our way of thanking them for being our sponsor.

The folks at Old North State Food Hall asked us to host a cruise-in there in Selma, so we put together this plan for a Sunday afternoon:

I'd rather go on vacation than go for pizza! lol
The North State Food Hall, hot time of year, but they tell us they will have a big canopy up for us to sit in the shade, plus they have lots of seating inside - including a bar in the back in case someone wants a cold frosty one.
