Not sure about behind gassers.
My guess is no because they are normally operated at higher RPM than diesels.

Our 95 351 has a soft pedal, as of most of the 92-96 gas trucks I drove. This 94 7.3 turbo has always been a very stiff pedal. The pedal got 3 times harder to push in about half way disengaged/engaged so letting out the pedal was tricky as well. Now the 7.3 is as smooth and close to as soft as the 5.8 is.

Yeah that powerstroke ran great with the SMF. The springs get softer toward the floor so its easy to hold the clutch disengaged at a stop light without your leg getting sore (and I don't usually drive stick). The flywheel is also a bit lighter, so I would imagine RPMs would go up and come back down a little quicker.

Didn't drive that truck very hard when I was testing it because I knew there was a broken rear shackle and god knows what else. That was the only powerstroke I ever felt sorry for, really beat up and poorly maintained.

Sorry still haven't written down the part numbers yet to post them up. I'll get on that.
What type of setup did you go with for your clutch you like on your 1994 Turbo idi? I want to put a fresh tight clutch in my 94, and I don't think the dual mass is bad at all, thought about sticking with a DMF and putting a 12" luk in it

Sorry I don't have the part numbers for the clutch kit I used.

It was all from napa. It was a new single mass flywheel with bolts, new clutch disc, new pressure plate, and I think new throw out bearing. All came in one box.

Truck and clutch are still going strong today! I can't believe it has been 5 years already since I did the clutch in that truck. I believe around 100K+ miles have been put on the new clutch setup. It has been chattering a little bit now and then but I blame that on the load the truck always has on it and pulling a trailer.
