68 Mustang Fastback/Kijiji Saskatoon

I think it`s over priced and alot of work but it would be sweet in the end: 1968 Mustang Fastback (Restoration Project) - Saskatoon Collector Cars For Sale - Kijiji Saskatoon

Sadly he just might get it or close to it. It`s a fairly rare car for GT500 Eleanor clone: YouTube - Ford Mustang GT500 Eleanor

Would be a cool car when done, however I dont think they will get that high of a price in the condition it is right now.

I don't know how much these things cost, but aren't there complete late '60's Mustang , all metal, all new fastback bodies available for sale down in the States?

They have had the '69 Camaro convertible for awhile and I beleive there is a Mustang body,

You need the stub frame parts, drivetrain, suspension, electricals etc. Certainly not a numbers matching.

More people are resorting to clones, now body replicas could well be the coming thing if prices continue to get higher for originals, which might not be in the same shape as the replica. ie; lots of years of weathering, etc., for many an original.

There was a fellow trying to sell a late '60's Mustang, had the six, etc., not a FB for about $ 20 grand . I thought you're dreaming in technicolor, but maybe it was me.

I think now that desirable bodies like a '68 Mustang fastback body is going for real good bucks, maybe it's time to look for a nice mid-'60's 2 door coupe (post or HT) Fairlane or Falcon 2 door post or ht, type, for less bucks than a 'Stang FB.

I always liked the '63-'64 Falcon 2 door Monte Carlo Rallye racers, Ford raced in Europe. Big tires, big HD suspension, beefed up high po , small block Ford V8's (260 + 289), 4 speed, fog lights all over the grille.

Ford Falcon - Classic Driver - MAGAZINE - classic car of the week

A street Monte Carlo Rally replica , based on a '63-64 Falcon 2 door with beefed suspension, breathed on 289, 4 speed would be nice and different.

An all new 67-8 fastback Mustang BARE body is around 15/16 G`s bare plus shipping.....Not exactly a bargain for the start of a clone. If one was to try building an all new 67 fastback I could see 40 G`s coming up fast and that`s by doing all your own work and depending on the components used. Probably that and a complete rotisserie resto would be close in the end and only the resto would be an original Mustang.
Falcons biggest engine was a 289, unless the Austrians had something bigger that we didn`t and even the 289 was a tight fit, no way a 390 wouldn`t fit without major modifications in that small engine bay. There is an immaculate 65 Falcon s dr ht with a 428 in Saskatoon but don`t ask Darin how many hundreds of hours he has in it.
I once tried to line up a shop tour at his shop/Advance Radiator but there was no interest......

what he's asking is a low ballpark for the finished product!!

A Galaxy, Comet, Fairlane and similar Fords all could of have a 390.
I don`t believe the asking price is what a quality finished product would cost, possibly in the $40-50,000 + range. Sadly with today`s soft market this wouldn`t likely bring that so I think he`ll have it for a long while. I wouldn`t want to buy it and spend that kind of money and time, nice ones are probably out there for less that what this would cost in the end.

I think the finished product (since it is a fastback they are worth more then a coupe) depending on the engine that a guy put in it, could be worth alot. With a 289 in there I think the max it would be worth (also depending on the restoration) would be in the early to mid 29g range.

Sure could be nice though.

Here`s what looks to be a finished 67 (LX ?) coupe/289/auto/$12,500.00 from Prince George BC.
The seller claims it`s rare.......It must be, I`ve never heard of a 67 LX or any LX Mustang before the 80`s....

I don`t think it`s priced too far below actual value but that`s always a possibility when dealing with a long distance purchase I suppose. There certainly are enough scams on the internet!
