Is it missing?

So I noticed a while ago, that the windshield washer tank doesn't have a filter like it used to.
I really noticed this yesterday when my drivers side nozzle stopped spraying leaving a nice bug-streaked window to look out of.

My question is, is the filter missing, or did Ford just decide to leave this piece out?

That's funny. Mine just did the same thing. I traced the nozzle/hose, disconnected it (near the passenger side upper corner) and tried to blow it out, but it didn't work. Seems that the hose goes under\in the plastic molding and that both are run from the same line from the tank\pump. I also stuck a needle into the nozzle and wiggled it around a bit, but it didn't make a difference. I'm going to get some compressed air next and try to blow it back out.

I hope you have better luck with compressed air than I did.
I got bubbles in the tank, and a whole lot of nothing.

I'm just going to take it to the dealership and have them fix it.
I'm not taking it apart.

Plus, I need to go to the dealership anyways. My drivers door is sticking sometimes when I try to open it.

No one answered the question: is the filter supposed to be there or not?

I've never owned a vehicle that had a filter on the washer fluid. Its a sealed system that you pour clean fluid into and then cap off, why would it need a filter?

On my old 03 and now my 04, I've had trouble with the spray. It would always stop working. The driver's side just spurts 3" of fluid on the windshield and that's it. Why does this keep failing?

I've thought the same thing. But I have had atleast 2 vehicles that had a filter there. So I didn't know if it was missing or not.

Either way, my drivers side nozzle isn't working.
It kinda ticks me off since the truck is brand new and is about 4 months old.
