2003 F250 6.0 major medical
Truck had been running fine then just shutdown on highway. Read several posts on forum about checking ICP & IPR along with pigtails, replaced the ICP and then had it taken to dealership for diagnostics.
Dealership "supposedly" ran diagnostic and said IPR and both pigtail connectors needed to be replaced, at that time we asked if the HPOP and FICM were checked and they said they were fine.
The recommended work was done and the next day they called and said that the rail to the #1 injector needed to be replaced along with the injector. We okayed that work to be done and 5 days later they call and say that they have now found water in the oil and the whole engine needs to be replaced. What the french toast is all that about??
Correct me if I am wrong but shouldnt that have been found in original diagnostics?? Total cost for replacement is $12,000 and I'm having a hard time swallowing this whole scenario along with the integrity of the dealership. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

The dealership said water in the oil and blow by, wouldnt they have seen or found this out at initial diagnostic?? I'm of the mindset that they are just replacing parts and really dont know what is wrong and now going to extremes. Seems to me there should be other options than sticking us with financial ruin.

you need to ask them Why does it need a new motor? What else besides having water in the oil tells you that it needs a new motor? I would have them show me in person exactly why they think it needs a new motor. If they are comming to that conclusion I would think they would of seen something major and not just assuming the motor is bad.
