I keep lurking and reading through the pages trying to catch up with the crews progress. I would love to do this, but man....there sure is a ton of work into this conversion.

Awesome job.

There is a LOT less in the conversion than you think. My buddy did one in 3 weeks. The problem with mine is there is a ton of other work I want to do to the truck and I don't want to get it running now to tar it apart & rebuild a bunch of other stuff later. That & I'm RELLY picky about the work on my truck os it takes forever. Oh and the fact that I never work on it anymore - haha

Saw he is selling. Bummed but I can understand. His was as much of an ongoing projects as mine and it can be draining at times. It's especially tough since he has a family. I've just got a girlfriend right now and finding time & $$ is tough enough!

As for your '72 - do post up pics! Start a build thread if you haven't already.

So I'm supposed to be working on my alfa but since my buddy has yet to get this pile of bronco remains out of my shop and off to scrap my alfa is still outside and in the dark so I worked on the crew a bit last night. I messed with the hood for 10 minutes or so and quickly remembered why I got pissed and stopped working on this thing. These hoods are huge and a pain to deal with and align. I can only imagine how much MORE of a pain it would be if I still had the stock, metal one that weighs twice as much...
So yeah, until I can get a buddy over to help for 1/2 a day or so I won't progress any more than this. I'm NOT a body guy so I suck at this and as much as I'd love to say "screw it - that will be fine" I KNOW a misaligned hood would **** me off...
That being said I finally figured out what I wanted to do hood pin mount wise and I worked on that last night. I got a good chunk of it set up. It's yet another time consuming detail that no one but me will care about, but it should look cool and be strong.

Here's the start of that. More to come once I can get the hood to sit where it needs to be.

I then spent this morning grinding a bit more on the grill insert to get it to fit around the intercooler.

Now I know where I need to go when I get back to this thing, but since my alfa should be back in the shop on Thurs night the cage and some other work on that will be coming 1st.

3 years is nothin for me. Ranger has been torn apart for 7+. The alfa has been semi neglected for about the same.

Good work takes time - a busy life outside of building makes it take even longer

I'm just saying wow cause I've got a 73 Mustang on the back back burner and it's been about that long and I can't seem to get back to it. I haven't been posting about it cause it's kinda embarassing for me personally and I don't even talk about it to anyone what with life going on 24/7. Hang in there and I don't mean no harm.

It took me a couple years of research and collecting parts. Ultimately, it took my daughter going off to college and taking our third car with her to light the fire that got mine done. Take the time and make it right so when your done you can enjoy it! I dont regret taking extra time where I needed to, so I dont have many re-do's.
