Well I guess I should re-name this project "baby steps" as everything is taking forever!
Didn't really get crap done saturday. I went to try and put my tranny in and realized my tranny jack was out of oil, leaking and needed a good cleaning - so I messed with that.
Sunday I messed with getting the tranny up in there for what seemed like FOREVER! Even with a tranny jack this thing was a biotch! Once I finally got it up in there the tranny cross member got started. I decided not to use that stock chevy cross member but rather cut it up into something and make a partial custom one using that
Tranny in truck - finally!
Shifter almost fits in stock T-case shifter hole
What used to be a stock cross member
Suzy helping out by sandblasting!
Starting of the custom part of the cross member
In the truck and tack welding
As I left it last night - still a bunch of metal to add tonight

I was wondeirng if anyone was ever going to call me on that seeing as I have noticed it in dang near all my pics. It actually came that way when I bought the top - which I THOUGHT was an older, CAST inspection table. Due to the wonders of CRAPPY pics on eBay and even crappier descriptions I got this massive (1330 lbs) table TOP. It was just the 2+" thick SOLID steel table with the ribs welded on. I made the base for it to turn it into a normal table. It's a heavy pig, but it's not my biggest/heaviest table (5'x5' acorn table weighs over a ton) and it even rolls around with a little effort!
You might have noticed the "front" on it - but has anybody noticed the hitch tube, with interchangable tools that go in it (vice, beverly shear, etc.)? All on my tables have "hitch tubes" welded to them - so all my tools can be moved from table to table with ease.

Did a little more work on the tranny mount last night. I should be able to wrap it up tonight.
For those of you that liked me motor mounts - you'll probably enjoy this...
Adding more structure to the mount
It's getting there. Need to match this "wing" on the other side and then box in the gussets out by the frame mount plates
mmmmm TIG welded goodness!

Steve, I finally got around to reading the entire post.
Things are looking real nice, no that there was any doubt.
Just thought I would finally subsribe to the thread, not that when I check in, you dont already bring me up to speed.
Keep it up. Camping trip has got to be right around the corner!!!
Oh yeah, when you are ready, bring some of that bling over to the shop so you can sand blast all of it. I have the blast booth all set up and working well.
Even have a decent line on powder....

Thanks Ed. I might just have to take you up on the blaster! I know I want to do my core support, and I'm starting to think I'm gonna do the whole frame too. Both of which are too big to fit in my little blast cabinet
Not to get ahead of myself though - I've got some work to finish before I get to that point
