Are you supposed to keep the slave cylinder depressed? I hope not, I don't have anything on mine. Everything stayed in the housing...

Neal, pics look good. Doesn't look like you had any clearance issues with the pipes. Actually, looks like there is a lot of room once you get the tranny out of there.

The uppipes still look pretty dang close the that firewall seam. Wonder if I took the tranny out, did some work with the sawzall it would work better?

Also, you made an adapter for the fuel return, I don't remember seeing any rubber lines up there? I believe all of mine are steel.

Did you just shim the fuel bowl then?

You may be fine. From what I hear the piston can come out of there. It seems that if it comes out too far you may get air in there. Just check the MC when you recompress.

Having the tranny out is a plus. I know the pipes look good but let me tell you if there was 1/8" less room in there I would be redoing alot of things. It is very tight in there. I can't imagine doing it with the tranny in there.

Probably would keep you off the blood pressure medicine.

The return are rubber on the front and the supply are steel at the rear.

Look at the pics I had to slide it forward and slightly clockwise and put only one bolt back in.
See above in color

Thanks for the help Neal. I know there is no room for error on those up-pipes. There just isn't enough room. I'm gonna go ahead and pull the tranny the next time I'm working on it. Should be a fairly easy job with the use of my buddies oil pit. Only problem is the truck is not sitting in the hitting shop... its gonna get cold someday lol.

I think tomorrow I'm gonna call beans and see if there setup will work for an hx50/55 setups. I'm not giving up on mine, but I want a plan B in case my uppipes will not work at all.

I talked to the guy that built my setup. I also learned lastweek that I am the first OBS customer he has. He makes this kits for superduties and them seem to work fine. I'm guessing it would be $1200 for the uppies/dp/ and y-pipe... that is if they sell that stuff separately.

I asked hypermax about a down pipe and they gave me a price on it so I think they will sell parts separate. Plus the uppies are a wear item just like the stock ones

If I were to do it again I would get Hypermaxes uppies and bellow them. That should take care of the wear you are talking about, right?

Farm, I honestly believe if you have the capabilities removal of the tranny is worth the extra effort. Then again I have a manual so I can't comment on the auto. You also may have some luck by removing the trans crossmember and the skid plate. The tilt the motor back to get to the passenger pipe and forward to get to the drivers pipe. Of course you may want to disconnect the DP from the turbo (which is probably already done) and remove the boots to the cooler if you have one. This is so the motor will rock as far as possible to give you the room.

I would think you guys should be able to get a DP uppies and the uppie collector for a very reasonable price. It seems that is all you two need. And maybe some oil lines but you can probably do them yourselves.
