Red face why do I feel bad to scrap old f600 frames and parts?

Well----I am scrapping some old frames from the trucks I have accumulated these past 5 years.
I feel bad for doing this!!! WHY?
I just hate to scrap stuff that has stood the test of time--but no-one seems to want these big trucks.
I hope you guys do not think I am a hoarder--and so the overflow lot is getting cleaned out.
I am considering either selling the 56 f500 OR turning it to a f100.
I have a trade coming up soon--a 56f100 for a garage-full of 56 new old stock panels and parts, plus a 56 complete but rusty truck.
Many new tailgates/hoods/stainless bumpers/beds/doors etc....the guy is cleaning house too.
SO SOME MUST GO--to make room for usable parts--and lighter parts--them F500/F600s are heavy and my back is feeling the pain!!

Got anything I can use in my '53 F-100 that you want to part with?

I run into the same thing when I part out a truck. It seems no one wants the parts that specific to the big trucks, that is until a week after you scrap it and some one on FTE posts a request for the back spring mounts for a F-6. It never fails.

You just can't keep everything. The only thing you can really do is post a message stating what you're scrapping and it's going to the shredder in 5 days. Something like this probably belongs in the swap area but it might be missed there.

I have an old 78 F250 IM parting out. I hate to but no one will give me anything for it.
The front sheetmetal is damn near perfect, so IM pulling a few parts and scrapping the rest.
I cant keep it all so even though its been a good truck it has to make room for the older truck.
I had a couple of bites off the classifieds and thats it.

I've done the same thing with a couple of late 70's F-150s I had. when they finally died, I ended up pulling off what I could that was worth saving (and had room for) and scrapped the rest

I go through a long grieving process whenever I let one go. Usually I have to get another before one leaves. The older it is, the harder to get rid of it is, as I know the odds of finding something like it, is not easy. Atleast til I retire and can travel.

Well since you're going to scrap out F-600's,

Would happen to have the rear frame cross member still intact on any of them?

Seems the last owner of my 55 F-600 didn't like the rear frame cross member and removed it...(I don't know why anyone would grind the rivets off and remove it but it's gone.)

Anything like that laying around?

Cheers,

Rick

I have afew F350/F600 frames laying around and also have a hard time to part with them.
I guess you have to sooner or later, for me it later so now I`m about to scrap them to make some room as well.

Desoto dave, what do you need I will be in Chesnee Sc on Monday to pick up a cab. I can bring it down and meet you somewhere. I think it is very close to Spartansburg. Let me know. Walford and I can meet up in the middle so I can pickup some parts. My trailer will be empty on the way down. I would prefer to have some weight in it anyway.

Should have seen all the good stuff that went bye bye two weeks ago here. I hauled the F800 in for scrap, front half weighed 3,200 lbs- GONE FOREVER! Next will be the white 56 f100
