The hard part is that you know eventually, somebody's gonna want that stuff. It just ain't this decade.

When I had my first '49, nobody cared at all about them. The 53-56s were the rage but 48-50s were cheap and easy to find.

Nowadays things have gotten so bad, people are actually resorting to '51-52s !!!!

C'mon.... relax...... it's a joke..........

I suspect the big stuff has a smaller audience but no less dedicated...... Actually, they are more dedicated. God Bless 'em

Would happen to have the rear frame cross member still intact on any of them?

Seems the last owner of my 55 F-600 didn't like the rear frame cross member and removed it...(I don't know why anyone would grind the rivets off and remove it but it's gone.)

Anything like that laying around?

Cheers,

Rick

Rick---let me know and I have more f600s and I will try to take off that crossmember for you. Is it the last one on the frame--let me know. Bill

I scrapped a 1956 F600 frame today--so sad--1400 lbs.--190/per ton
I hate to do it--but with all these trucks,etc--need the room....Bill

Where you in?

We in Michigan they are pay me $150 per ton but for other they get $140. That why you need to know them more so they would do little. I am think give them flower to thank for $150.

Have anyone notice steel price go down fast?

I really hate scrap truck like old one if it rusty then scrap. I saw many 70's truck went there scrap it was rusty plus it was smash I think they was play hit thing then scrap.

yES--190.00 PER TON IN n.e.ohio AND yes it was higher before. I hate to think of all the vintage tin (muscle cars) and effies that were squashed over a few bucks . I am all in favor of squashing rotted up junk---but some guys just want money.....they even rip off aluminum siding and copper pipes from churchs to sell to scrap yards for the cash....real sad!! I sold lots of steel scrap in my day in business,BUT that was steel-mill scrap--not 56 ford trucks!!!! Bill

Dave --do you still need the title to your 56 f600?--call Tony K. 517-206-8232 and tell him what you need. He offered it to me--but I did not need it. Bill

The price for scrap hasn't dropped here yet, least not that I'm aware of...did you take your frame in "whole" or chopped up?

Here, if I keep things in 4foot by 2 foot sections it's called "prepared" last time (few weeks ago) I got 16 cents a pound (320/ton), the other pieces I had that were about 6 foot long were called "unprepared" and I only got 8 or 10 cents a pound...which is about what you got for your frame.
