F250 Highboy w/Detroit 4-53T engine

has anybody here recently seen or heard of any of the 70's era 250 highboys that have been converted to Detroit diesel 4-53T engines? i saw a few of these years ago, typically with manual trannies of at least 5 spd's. presumably there high stance allowed enough clearance from oil pan to front axle as compared to Dodge ,IH,or GM. I talked once to an owner of one of these,he claimed close to 20 MPG,while the T(turbo)version had plenty of power. I was just thinking something like this might be fun,and the clatter and smoke would likely irritate the "enlightened" elite here in Ca.!

There's quite a few on youtube. A few 3-53T's, a few 4-53T's, 4-71T's, and a couple 6V53T's

chevenstein is starting off with a positive reputation.
I've got a '62 F250 with a straight piped 4-53 in it...the look on Prius drivers' faces as I scream by leaving trails of smoke is priceless! It keeps the pavement nicely oiled, too.

A good friend of mine refers to the prius as pious, because of the arrogant attitude many of there owners exhibit.

Ive worked in the fishing industry, including a many years on charter boats, and years ago most of the boats in my area used Detroits,a couple boat operators referred to them as Driptroits! I guess the new detroits, solved this but the old 53,71,and 92 series sure were leaky, smoky devils....ran damn near forever though!

In his other video, he says it is a 4-53 with a turbo added and N90 injectors

I looked at the other video and soon as I seen the valve cover I knew it was a 53 series with bolt down cover. If its got N90 injectors she is dumping lots of fuel into her.

This is a 6/71 that is overworked
