so i'm working on my 1995-ish f150. The truck is a regular cab, shortbox, 4x4, lifted 4 inches, with a 1982 f150 frame. it's a long story on how it got that way. Right now i'm swapping in the 8.8 and front dana axles out of a 95 bronco, and i'm swapping a 351w/ ZF tranny into it out of 95 f250. my first question is what rear driveshaft can i use, or do i need to get a custom one made?
also, the truck had a full dual exhaust off of full length headers, so now i'm also looking for full length headers for the 351 that will work with the 5 speed... suggestions?
Also, i have 3 steering boxes, the one out of the 95 Bronco, one out of the 82 pickup, and one off the 95 f250, any one better than the others?
The ZF is about the same length as the M5OD, so if you could find a driveshaft out of a 4x4 regular cab shortbox F-150 with a 302/M5OD it should work. Are you using the Bronco transfer case or the F-250 case?
There are numerous full length headers made. Do a search and I would also check with the supplier that it will fit your app.
Steering boxes are tied to the wheelbase. Use whatever steering box matches the wheelbase of your truck for best results.
I honestly don't know if the 95 column will hook to the 82 box. If you have to use the 95 box it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world, but if you end up getting a new steering box, get one for a 95 F-150 shortbox regular cab.
