There are many fine small-builder guitars, but buying a major name (Gibson, Fender, etc) guitar used is the best way to lose zero on resale, and over the long term even make some money *if* you want to sell out.
I checked out the Youtube and boy is that an ugly guitar. Guy plays really fast, but what is he "saying" with his music? I don't get these wheedly wheedly guys that spit out tons of notes without a purpose. It's like a singer trying to impress somebody by singing 10000 words a minute. BB King would move me more playing about 5 notes with some feeling.

As for his playing style, he prefers playing the slower Latin style of music.
He plays very clean and when he wants to let loose, he lets loose.
