Somethings just not right about that photo. It does not show any of the classic signs of being a Ford test vehicle. It is also definately not a H-D. To me it looks like average joe driving a plain old '08 XL 6.4L with black (possibly powder coated) H-D wheels on it that also happens to be setup for plowing. Some times these photo guys get a little carried away when they see something that looks a little different and it just happens to be in a area where it is possible/common to see test vehicles.

It sort of reminds me of the following thread where even the author of the article agreed that it was not as appeared...

I wouldn't pay extra for an HD with an XL grille and lights. Huh, no painted flames or anything...except of course a plow setup. It's not a 2009.5 HD

Yeah, it's an XL, and it doesn't even have the "exterior upgrade package". Completely opposite end of the spectrum from a Harley model.

Its hard to belive pickuptrucks.com got it so wrong ? They have been pretty good in the past.

Maybe they are testing the new drivetrain in a XL body to avoid unwanted attention.
It's possilbe they know more than us.

Yeah, but the HD doesn't have a different drivetrain, right? So why call it an HD if it's an XL with a different drivetrain?

I highly doubt the truck is a Ford test vehicle to begin with and it would not be the first time they have published a photo of a Super Duty that turned out not to be what they thought it was. Mistakes happen...

The article was about the 6.2 boss motor in the 2009.5 superduty harley.
A different drivetrain in the XL body for testing . It read's that the 6.2 will first show up in the harley version.(which is just stickers and stuff).

We rightly took grief for the SD with the winter grille cover, but we also caught flack for the early F-150 Raptor mule that looked like a civilian 2004-08 truck. The Raptor mule was right on.

The F-250 is wearing an M-plate in back. The SOHC 2V info about the Boss is correct. Stay tuned.

Its just sheer coincidence that it says Boss on the front because Boss is a company that makes plows and that is their exact logo
