Ok,, I was officially accepted into the department on Wednesday and got my radio and turn outs.

My first call out was Thursday ~ Broken hip. I felt like the fifth tit on a cow!!! Sure was glad when the responding paramedic gave me some chores to do!!! I hate not knowing what to do!! Sure be glad when classes start!!!

Congrats on your first call Liz. You never forget your first. . Wait to you answer your first working (burning) house fire and you come home smelling of smoke.

 

ah yet the smoke..so tierd but cant sleep got to love it

 

Boy I forgot about this thread......

There is nothing like coming home in the middle of the night smelling of smoke so bad that you have to take a shower even though you are dead tired. You also do not forget the 'all nighter' calls.

 

Been applying more band-aids than water lately,,, I guess that's a good thing?!?!?!

I passed my State Boards first time through, all six stations, no retakes!!! Whoo Hoo!!!

Now, to take the National Registry later this month and I'm DONE!!!!

Hey Liz, congrats on the accomplishment. I got back in as Chief in January of my department so I am not putting too much wet stuff on the hot stuff, but busy directing others and dealing with the paperwork
