I've wondered why the ambulance conversion companies haven't (as I haven't seen any yet) used the Aerocell body, considering the heighten interest in increased fuel efficiency.

 

I think that it is due to the fact of not having enough room inside the back, but also the ambulances are built for roll over protection and other standards that are established by the National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA).
