Tie Rod failure 1997 XLS F-150 2wd
Ford has sent me a chegue for $128.87 to cover half my costs (tow plus parts and labour)of a tie rod failure which occurred Dec.4th, 2000. I was off warranty and had been told by Ford that I was out of luck. They have since decided that as a gesture of goodwill they would pay 50%.
I believe that the part was defective and did not stand up to normal use. This meassage is to anyone who has accepted Fords pay and leave policy. I believe that there is an expressed warranty when you buy something represented to you as being durable and long lasting.
