We actually had the same problem on a 05 that had about 40k miles on it. They replaced it and we have not had another problem with it at 90k. Hopefully that will be your only problem.

I know that was tongue-in-cheek, but I'm damned tempted....

Just cruised through a GMC lot......Had a BEAUTIFUL 2008 2500HD on the lot....Black, 4X4....the full (leather) trim package.....amber roof lights.....off-road package.....Duramax/allison.....Short-bed with the crew cab......

(Drumroll).......$41,000.00!!!!!

Hell. Those things usually go for $53,000.00! They're doing that employee pricing deal this month. The listed price (41-K) is BEFORE the other rebates.....So you're actually looking at $38,000.00 and change for an awesome fully-loaded truck.

I'll tell you guys right now. If that was a longbed 3500HD (SRW), I mighta driven it off the lot. The only shortcoming with my F250 is that it's a shortbed.

I EXPECTED that answer!

Still. One thing I DO like about GM/Chevy is that they didn't really have to change anything between 2007/2008---unlike Ford and Dodge. And Ford and Dodge have serious teething problems on the new stuff.

I suppose in about 20 years, FINALLY, the Duramax will have the longevity to earn respect as a 'time-tested' diesel......Although it's 8 years and running so far....
