Frame Swap with a 2000 ranger/ explorer

I have been wondering for some time if it is possible to do a frame swap onto a 2000 ish ranger/ explorer.... some Ive seen have rear disc brakes even. Dunno about the wheelbase or anything like that...I have found a great post on H.A.M.B. about the issue..but doesnt cover the f100s yet..however I did ask the question there.

If it were possible, would it be of any great advantage...other than no twin I beams.

What do you guys think about it?

65, First off, anything is possible with enough time and money thrown at it.

What is your objective? What kind of budget and time frame do you have?

An open end question is hard to advise.

Yeah, I dont know about that... I am more speaking out of curiosity than actuality.
As far as objectives... the main reason I have read that people go to these modern chassis is for just that to have a modern ride and feel...disc brakes.. no big deal there..Ive got that now...more versatility, more options maybe...from what I have read the explorers have a nicer chassis set up that can allow for easy ride height adjustment with torsion bars. I think the rear disc option is nice. of course that can be achieved with the 65 frame. One of the main reasons I read that guys do frame swaps or clips is to get rid of the I beam suspension....the explorer has the A arm and I think Rack and Pinion ...if not factory there are companies that sell kits. All things that I guess can give a better ride....so I would say for objective... ride height versatility, better steering components, suspension components, and flexibility. There are a ton of parts to modify the frame of a ranger/ explorer.

**edit** I probably shouldnt say better there. That would be a persons opinion...I dont have an opinion.. The only explorer I rode in was a buddys that didnt seem overly impressive. But...Ive never riden in a f100 yet. Mine is patiently waiting for a shifter and brakes all around...got a couple weeks before Im there. I can hardly wait.

FWIW- just my opinion, both my sons have 2000 plus rangers , granted they are very nice riding trucks BUT, i think my 66 F-100 rides hands down nicer and softer than both of their trucks. i might add here that i removed one leaf spring from the rear when i had it apart for restore because i knew then that i would never again haul a load in it that would require a sturdier suspension. i also put a split bench seat from a 1990 dodge dynasty that made it the most comfortable truck i've ever had tha pleasure to drive. then again I'm really biased toward the slicks. The only problem that our slicks have is they're rather lacking in cab space which i'm sure all of you have experienced also. Dutch
