Talking Gooseneck Hitch - Consider CODY - Great design

Hello All<o></o>
FYI pertaining to Gooseneck Hitch - CODY - Great design<o></o>
My Notes to follow:<o></o>
For documented reference while its fresh in my mind <o></o>
-After considerable research<o></o>
-Reviewing many Gooseneck hitches for Ford F250 FX4 Model Yr 2006 – Regular Cab Long Bed <o></o>
-Was leaning towards B&W turnoverball until it appeared that the Release latch under fender well would interfere with my PacBrake air bags <o></o>
Send e-mails to B&W + PacBrake but didn’t get a response that was satisfactory -- both stated not certain if compatible <o></o>
http://www.turnoverball.com<o></o>
http://www.pacbrake.com<o></o><o></o>

-So continued on with my search <o></o>
-Came across the CODY Gooseneck Hitch during my search via Dogpile Web Search Home Page <o></o>
htttp://www.google.com <o></o>
-CODY has a Great design that eliminates the latch under fender well<o></o>
-Release & Ball is all contained within the Truck Bed<o></o>
-Plus it’s a see thru hole, doesn’t capture dirt, doesn’t freeze up, and no latch mechanism under truck to rust etc <o></o>
-As part of CODY installation kit, a pilot tool is provided <o></o>
-After hitch is 100% mounted / bolted and centered as required <o></o>
-From underneath truck insert pilot tool into gooseneck hole, drill up thru bed <o></o>
-Now you have an Exact pilot hole for reference inside bed<o></o>
-Now drill your final Hole using pilot hole in bed as reference<o></o>
-Everything matches exactly<o></o>
-No measuring and hoping for the best as is the case on other Hidden hitch solutions / turn over ball <o></o><!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> <!--[endif]--><o></o>

FIVE main reasons I selected CODY<o></o>
1) It was a hidden hitch / turn over ball / when not in use flat bed full use of<o></o>
2) NO drill into Truck Frame adapter plates <o></o>
3) DIY installation practices - saving me big bucks<o></o>
4) Didn’t interfere with PacBrake air Bags already installed<o></o>
5) Heavy duty construction <o></o>
Rated at 35,000 Lbs GVW<o></o>
7500 Lbs Gross Tongue weight <o>
</o><o></o>
Numerous web sites / dealers selling the CODY Gooseneck Hitch<o></o>
-Once I decided on the CODY Gooseneck <o></o>
-Then went into the mode of searching for BEST price<o></o>
-Again used Dogpile and Google <o></o>
-Came across Web dealer <o></o>
http://www.thecodyhitch.com/index.html<o></o>
-Called and spoke with Dale Tel # (580)272-6803<o></o>
-New 2008 pricing for Cody Hitch = $ 369.<o></o>
-New 2008 pricing for NO drill adapter plate for my Truck = $ 45.<o></o>
-New 2008 pricing for Cody cushion = $ 449<o></o>
-NO Tax on all <o></o>
-FREE ship on all <o>
</o><o></o>
Three Items in total pending shipment as follows:<o></o>
1) Extra Heavy Duty CODY Universal Gooseneck Hitch – Part # A050<o></o>
2) NO Drill adapter plate for Ford F250 my model Year of 2006<o></o>
3) Cody Cushion<o></o>
<!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> <o></o>
Received all Three items via UPS on August 18th 2008 ( Monday )<o></o>
-Inventoried all items <o></o>
Installation went as planned this evening - Aug 20, 2008 ( Wednesday )<o></o>
-A great gooseneck hitch heavy duty without doubt in my humble viewpoint<o></o>
-Easy install <o></o>
-All brackets for lowering the Diesel exhaust so no interference with Gooseneck hitch <o></o>
-High quality bolts <o></o>
-I also would highly recommend the no drill kit especially if you either have Air bags or plan to ADD them in future <o></o>
NOTE: I did have to drill TWO holes on each side of truck thru PacBrake bracket then thru CODY Adapter plate <o></o>
-Hope this helps a bit <o></o>
<!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--><o></o>
Good evening to all<o></o><o></o>

B&W interfered with my airbags as well. I modified the installation of the airbags rather than go with a lesser quality hitch.

Talking Gooseneck Hitch - Consider CODY - Great design

I am not pushing one hitch over another
-Just figured I would share my experience / knowledge
-For benefit of all who may view this Thread / Title

I made my selection based on technical data + heavy duty design of CODY
-Compare the data B&W versus CODY
-CODY has the better technical data
-Plus its design doesn't interfere with air bags
-No mods like the B&W design
-What I really like is all is contained in BED ( Release & Ball )
-No need to pull a release latch under fender well
-Not to mention the B&W latch assembly being exposed to the elements underneath the vehicle just wasn't for me
-Like I stated on my earlier e-mail suggest each member conduct their own independent research and make selection that works best for their application / use .

Thanks for your response

Great evening to all

John
