My 2004 Lariat radio (6 disc) has an AUX button with nothing on it. Is it possible to hook up a cable in the rear of the unit to play from my mp3 player? (it has no front aux line in)

Hopping I don't have to replace the whole unit...

The Aux is there because these radios can have satellite wired straight into them. Once the 07's came out they had a port on top for MP3 players to plug into.

 

So it looks like a new radio for me... Thanks

I've wondered the same thing myself. I've tried the FM transmittors but theyre hit and miss and awful cluttery.

 

What I would recommend is find a radio out of an 07 Ford and install that into your truck. They should be the same except the aux port and that comes out the top of the dash on the 07's and 08's so you should be able to run it the same way.

 

FWIW I got one of these and it works great.
