I know you're new here Adam, but when you clean and paint things you're supposed to give us photos. We all love pictures.

So how long did it take you? Did you go ahead and tighten up the orange boots on top of the motor while you were in there? Have you taken it for a spin yet? How do you like the new sound?

Good job on the new mod.

I know but it was dark til I got done. I'll throw some pics on tomorrow. It took an hour and half for me just to get the rest of that glue off. No I didn't tighten the orange boots. I did take it for a drive and noticed the turbo whistle more. Hopefully tomorrow I'll get my exhaust done.

Don't ignore those orange boots. The passenger side one on my truck was loose and caused an oil leak, not to mention making a general mess on my motor.

My motor is a mess too. I will check those out tomorrow. You said they are on the top of the motor? I noticed some oil down in the valley there. Thanks for the heads up Chris.

The orange boots are just below the blue and black boots on the end of the IC pipes sitting on top of the motor. You played with the IC pipe with the blue boots today.

Here's a view of the passenger side (note the black boot just above it for reference)

Here's a pic of the drivers side (you can see the blue boot for reference)

BE CAREFUL. You may even be better off removing the manifold and boots and cleaning it all properly as opposed to trying to tighten the boots and crushing your plenum tube. It has happened more than once.

They are so oily they may squirm and deform causing you to try to tighten them more. I got tired of that and replaced those oil soaked memory having orange hoses with marine grade ones.

Pics are in my gallery. How do I load them into a thread without photobucket or something like that? Is that possible?

If their in your gallery, go to the pic you want and to the right at top you'll see insert pics, with the mouse left click and drag and highlight then right click and hit copy. Go into the post you want the pic to go and right click and hit paste and wala...

WOW.

You really go above and beyond the call of duty for fellow ford 7.3 owners.

I already rep'd you more than I can, but boys you'd better show you're appreciation to the true dedication youre seeing here. Remember... learn all you can, one day youll be doing the teaching and helping FTE remain 1st class.

The way I do it is below the reply window there is a button that says go advanced. If you quote someone, you'll already be in the advanced window. Open your gallery page in a separate window or tab and get the picture you want displayed in the other tab / window. Then right click on the picture and select copy image location. Come back to the reply box you're typing in and click on the button. A new little window pops up. Just paste the location of the picture you copied there and hit ok. Then your gallery pics show up here like this.
