Tires and Inspection?

Hi Everyone! I have a small problem with my inspection. My dealer put on tires and rims my truck that they recommended and ordered for me. After a few months I took my truck in for inspection. This was the longest drive I have had in my truck in two months about 5 miles It was just fine!!!! Back to my question. They inspected it one time with out wheel well flares! I told them you (the dealer) recommended the tires and you ordered them for my truck. When I told the person at the dealer He told me to call back Monday and over the weekend look for wheel well flares and put them on. What kind of business is this from a dealer? They should have never sold me anything that will not pass inspection. What do I do at this point? Do I have to purchase $500.00 worth of flares that I do not want or like because of there mistake? I liked the Cooper STT 35x12.50x18 better but I was told these were better!

Sam, Not sure about PA but in MD if the tire is out of the wheel well it won't pass. As for the dealer your right they should have never done that.
Before you get crazy worrying wait and talk with someone tomorrow and be nice, your frustration won't get you anywhere.

Sam what did they put on there? Got pictures? Mine don't stick out so if you needs to borrow them one weekend maybe I can figure something out and you can run your truck through inspection with mine.

I am upset but I will not get loud and disrespectful after what I have gone through this year this is nothing. I am lucky to be on earth and refuse to get pissed off but I want this matter get worked out. That is very good advice and thank you for helping me to remind myself to cut off my line of commutation on this matter. I like the tires I like the rims I was not feeling good at the time to notice the tires stick out of the wheel well by three inches.I just hope I am not out of options and I have to pay out of my pocket to fix this mess.

Ryan your 16" rims will not fit because my brake rotors are too big.I thought about this Saturday. I do know anything about wheel well flares. My rims are 18x9.5 and tire size is limited. I think I am going back to 35x12.50x18.

Hi George yes they are. The dealer told me they would order them and take delivery on them plus all of my paper work has there name on it. The dealer told me that I have to keep an E rated tire on the truck. The 35" tires were too tall and did not look right in the wheel well.

Yes the same dealer. The one thing I asked them to do at my cost was to do something about my mileage drop. I was getting 16.5 to 17 MPG they replaced the trans my mileage is 11 to 12 MPG. They told me that is impossible. They told me if there are no codes there is no problem. I did not get anything accomplished and then the tire issue came up.

So are they trying to sell you the wheel flares also?

I suppose you got rid of your old tires and wheels?

I can't wait until I call them Monday! What a mess this is. Can't wait to see what this will cost. Thank God inspections are one time a year.
