I have been trying to use this search to help me find my answer. I have found is that the 300 block stayed the same for 30+ years. If that is correct then my head from my 81 should bolt on to a 90's shortblock?
My father in law gave me this truck and I found it broke a ring on number 3 cylinder and scored the block pretty bad.
I found a low mileage 93 or 94 in the boneyard. I want to know if there is anything I would have to watch out for?
Did the port design or bolt hole locations change on the cylinder heads for the manifolds?
The reason I ask is because I thought maybe I could bolt my exhaust and intake manifold on this motor. Anyway sorry if I ask a question that someone else has asked,but to find it you have to know how they posted their question

The major change is in the fuel pump set up. Since the 90's are EFI they used electric pumps and plugged the hole where the mechanical pump goes but the bolt holes are still there. Just have to knock out the plug to install a mechanical pump or use an electric pump on your carbed set up.
So I can leave the head on it and put my manifolds on it?
I have a nice holley red electric pump,but I will probably go ahead and put the mechanical one on it since it is brand new.
