$500 Reward if you find me $18k-$20k off MSRP

Hi All,

I am looking for a new 2008 SuperDuty and have seen a few posts claiming they found dealers willing to sale trucks for up to $20k off of MSRP on a new truck. I have checked a number of dealers and so far it seems most are offering $10k-$12k off. Here is what I am looking for:

F250/F350
Crew cab
4x4
Powerstroke with Automatic
Lariat, FX4, or King Ranch trim level

If you know of a dealer offering these huge discounts please let me know. Tell me where you saw or heard the discount advertised. If I buy a truck from the dealer you refer me to, I’ll send you a check for $500 for the referral. No tricks, no games. You save me some cash I’ll kick you back a $500 finder fee. So open up your Saturday papers and take a look!

Thanks!

The ford dealer I bring my truck in for service to, is advertising 15k off all '08 superduties in stock.

Search their inventory here: Jennings Anderson ford

It's a bit of a haul from Tampa though.

I called my local Ford dealer and found a bit of a snag. They are offering a $16,000.00 rebate and dealer incentives on all 08' Diesel/Lariat Superduties. ($18000.00 two weeks ago) The problem is your zip code, Rebate/Incentives are regional and he can't offer any better than your local dealer. So unless you can Title it in our local zip code I don't think you will get the full rebate's/incentive unless it is offered in your local area.

Hope this helps.

"residency restrictions apply" unfortunately may be the problem. If one dealer can do it, usually they all can, they just may not be willing to.

You guys hit the nail on the head. All rebates and incentives are different for different regions. For example, I had a customer the other day that was registering the truck in Florida, but my dealer is in New Hampshire. Ford offers 0% on F150's, but the best rate for Florida was 4.9%. I have to use the rate that corresponds to the zip code the vehicle is registered in. Customer was kinda unhappy, but he really didn't have a choice. The mark up in a vehicle is the same for everyone. Some dealers will dip into holdback, others won't. Figure about $1000-$1200 in holdback on a truck like that. So the best deal you could get is around invoice less $1200 less all rebates available in your region. Any advertisements less then that are surely with a catch. I can tell you that we are a huge volume dealer and sell under invoice quite often, but I don't think even the most expensive truck on the lot would allow for $20,000 off the price.

Thanks Michael and Kennedyford. I checked out those deals and they are legit. Unfortunately the 50% off deal only has XL models left. Jennings Anderson Ford looks like the best of the two so far.

On the comment about regional rebates and incentives, The customer based rebates of $5500 Customer Retail Cash and $1000 Customer Bonus Cash for a total of $6500 are the same for Arizona, North Carolina, and Florida. The Customer Retail Cash is $6500 in San Antonio. So while I agree they do vary somewhat from location to location ($500-$1000), this does not explain completely why my local dealers will only sale for $11k off of MSRP and other dealers are selling much larger discounts up to $20k. Those dealers either have something else worked out with Ford, or they are taking a loss on the old models to clear them out. I know you guys working for dealers not doing the heavy discounting can make some pretty good points, but there is something else at work here when we are talking about these types of huge discounts that are popping up around the country in spots.

Please keep them coming!

Some of the bigger dealers have what is called a stairstep incentive in which they take a chance on selling a certain number of units to reach a certain kickback. To really push it, they will allocate some of that money to discount the truck.

I could look up an example, but using your numbers, and average markup over invoice of $5500 , that gives a possible $12k in discount to invoice. Add military and first time buyer discount that most of these places probably do, $1500 worth of holdback and those are another $3000. For a total of $15k. Some dealers will play with the freight charge and say that prices don't included taxes, tags or freight, so the "sale" price will have freight removed, another $850 or whatever it is. So we are to $16k.

The actual numbers will vary, but this is how it is done

Hi All,

My offer still stands and I am still looking. I expect as we get closer to the end of the month the deals will start popping up again. So check out your weekend newspaper and let me know.

Thanks!

I'm not looking for the finder';s fee but here's an idea that may or may not work. Just buy the truck without registering it and tow it back home yourself(or have it shipped). Perhaps you could get a motel for a week to "establish residence", buy the truck, and then "decide to move back"....

It's skirting the issue for sure, but like I said it may(or may not) work.

I will second that. With 20K off msrp plus tax/tag and no strings attached. I will buy one too. F350 XLT PSD CC 4x4 DRW LB 4.1LS in white.

No matter how you slice it. There just isn't 40% of markup/rebate on a 50K truck.

You can do what I did. Buy it in another state and register it in that state with your out of state address. I bought and licensed mine in Vermont to save sales tax and the registration has my NYS address on it. New York has no idea and Vermont appreciates the money. May be worth asking the local DMV if you go out of state. My $0.02.

Try Banner Ford in Mandeville, LA. They had some $18,000 off signs on some crew cabs awhile back. Not sure of all of the details though.

I priced a 4x4 King Ranch last week in north central Florida. I have an x-plan so I get to see all the numbers. MSRP $52,995. Invoice $48,376. X-Plan $ 48,258. Holdback $1561. Current incentives $6500. So my price with x-plan is $41,758. That is $11,237 off MSRP. I think I'll wait them out. Kind of hard to make a case to replace my 2002 F-250...it fits just like an old saddle.
