Squek in the bell housing
It's a 5-speed manual. I noticed it yesterday on the way home. It sounded like a belt slipping. I tracked it down to the bell housing. If a grab the clutch arm that goes threw the bell housing the noise goes away. Most noticeable when the truck is ideling in neutral, although I think I heard it a little while driving too. The PO said the clutch/master cyl/ and slave cyl changed within the last couple thousand miles.
Maybe bad throwout bearing or pilot bushing? I really don't want to pull the tranny to see. Any ideas?

Yep, the sound is there at idle but goes away when I push the clutch in. I was thinking throwout bearing. I guess the guy that did the clutch didn't change it or used a cheap one. How long do you think I got before it needs attention?
On a side note the tranny grinds when I down shift from 3rd to 2nd. It doesn't grind any other time. I think the syncrose must be going out. I'll probly try and deal with both at the same time. Not necessarily now.
Thanks for all the replies. I'll let you guys know if it gets bad enough for me to tear open.
